My 15-minute weekly newsletter format
The easiest way to stay top of mind & nurture your email list
Starting (and sticking to) a weekly newsletter can feel intimidating.
Even for people who've done content for a while.
But the truth is - it doesn't have to be that way.
So today I want to introduce you to alternative approach that can make it MUCH easier for you to get started sending emails - and stay consistent (without burning out).
I call this format the "Weekly Roundup Email."
And it's a simple (but powerful) format that will allow you to create AND send engaging newsletters in less than 15 minutes per week.
Some proof:
Here's how it works:
Every Sunday (Mondays can also work), you send a quick email (200-300 words max) curating your best social content from the past week.
That's it.
Told you it was very simple!
Now, don’t be fooled.
Just because this format is so simple, doesn’t mean the benefits aren’t huge.
The benefits of the Weekly Roundup Format
I love this format because it allows you to:
Get additional distribution on existing content
Ensure subscribers see your best work each week
Stay consistent & keep your email list engaged with pretty little effort
The other nice thing?
You can take advantage of this format whether you're already publishing a newsletter each week or not!
For example:
If you haven't started sending a newsletter yet, this is the lowest-friction way to begin (and what we'd recommend doing). Because there's absolutely zero pressure to create original content - you just re-package what you're already doing.
And if you're already sending a weekly newsletter? This becomes a simple second touch point that provides extra value while extending your content's lifespan.
Either way, it's a big win.
Now, let’s talk about how you can start using this strategy for yourself.
How To Create A Weekly Roundup Email
Here's a quick checklist to start creating your own Weekly Roundup Emails (in 15 minutes or less):
Review your social posts from the past week
Select 3-5 of your best performing (or most valuable) pieces
Write a 1-2 sentence “hook” for each one
Add a brief personal note at the beginning of the email
Send!
Here’s a real example of a Weekly Roundup Email I sent recently so you can see it in action (you can also read a copy of the actual email here).
Now, I like to make it as easy as possible for you to start implementing the frameworks I share.
So with that in mind, I’ve put together 2 things to help with that:
A Template
And an AI prompt
Let me walk you through each of them.
Your Weekly Roundup Email Template
As you can tell, this format is very straightforward.
But even still, if you don’t have a series of constraints (and you force yourself to start from scratch every week), this could end up taking more time and mental effort than it should.
Which is why the first step to making this whole process as effortless as possible is to create a template you can use as a starting point each week.
So to give you a head start, I’m sharing a copy of my own Weekly Roundup Email Template below.
Obviously, feel free to tweak the template & make it your own - but this should give you a solid foundation to start with:
Every day I share one [TYPE OF CONTENT] to help you [BENEFIT].
The problem?
You've got a lot on your plate - so you probably missed some of my best stuff last week.
Which is why I've curated my [NUMBER] best [PLATFORM] posts from the past [TIMEFRAME] (so you can get all the value without the mindless scrolling).
Enjoy!

Which of these was your favorite?
Hit reply & let me know.
[YOUR NAME][YOUR TITLE]
PS - [OPTIONAL CLOSING MESSAGE]
Now, once you’ve adapted the template to your personal voice/style, there’s one more thing you can do to streamline this process even more:
Train AI to ghostwrite these emails on your behalf!
The Weekly Email Roundup Generator
Using the prompt below, you’ll be able to write your Weekly Email Roundup emails even faster.
All you have to do?
Copy/paste your finalized Template into the second to last section of the prompt
Go through the steps I outlined earlier (so you can identify & grab the links of the posts you want to feature in your next email)
Paste the links into your prompt & then feed it into Claude or ChatGPT (whichever you prefer)
Make any final edits to the email & hit send!
So, ready to give it a try?
